Location: Remote, restricted to US Timezone. Based in Chicago.

What you will do

• Identify news-driven trading opportunities by collaborating with traders and researchers.
• Maintain core themes and a detailed calendar of material events.
• Monitor real-time content flows and alert traders to potential trading opportunities.
• Build, prioritize, and maintain high-precision automated alerts for themes of interest.
• Direct product development of the real-time event monitoring and alerting system.
• QA/UAT and test all releases of alerts and product to ensure quality standards.

Requirements

• Prior experience in trading firms, hedge funds, market intelligence, or financial news organizations, with a focus on generating alpha from news.
• Deep understanding of real-time information flows and their impact on price formation.
• Familiarity with news dissemination and tracking high-impact sources.
• Experience using social media aggregation platforms and working with unstructured data, text analytics.
• Proficiency in scripting and query languages, specifically Python, Rust, and SQL.
• High attention to detail and ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate key insights to traders and researchers.
