What you will do

• Provide expert support for complex mainframe Db2 environments within tight deadlines.
• Drive strategy and design across mainframe development and test estates.
• Own and advance the zDBA technology roadmap collaborating with stakeholders.
• Implement standardization and continuous improvement initiatives in the team.
• Collaborate with Lab and Platform teams to promote and implement process initiatives.
• Ensure strict adherence to governance, processes, and procedures.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or able to work from Edinburgh, Leeds, or Manchester
• Extensive expertise in Db2 on z/OS with performance monitoring and SQL tuning skills.
• Experience governing DDL changes and schema evolution aligned with change control.
• Proven ability to resolve and troubleshoot critical online systems.
• Strong communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for senior leadership.
• Experience coaching junior team members on Db2 fundamentals and operational processes.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of experience as a z/OS Db2 DBA in a financial organization.
