TL;DR

Senior Learning And Development Manager (Gamedev): Shaping and delivering the L&D strategy for a growing games business with an accent on identifying skill needs, designing learning solutions, and strengthening performance management. Focus on establishing the UK apprenticeship levy, building coaching habits for leaders, and managing external L&D providers.

Location: Hybrid, based in or willing to relocate to Cambridge, UK to regularly attend the office (at least twice a fortnight).

What you will do

  • Partner with HRBPs and leaders to identify skills and capability needs and develop L&D roadmaps using data.
  • Design and deliver progressive learning solutions using various formats, including micro-learning, peer learning, and workshops.
  • Establish and lead the approach to the UK apprenticeship levy, integrating it into early careers strategy.
  • Strengthen performance management and design practical support for managers to build coaching habits.
  • Manage and report on mandatory training programs (Cyber, Health, Safety, compliance).
  • Own and manage L&D budgets, tracking ROI and making data-informed investment recommendations.
  • Act as a proactive point of contact for L&D, managing external vendors and ensuring stakeholder alignment.
  • Define and track L&D success metrics, using data to refine programs and experiment with new development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Significant experience (5+ years) in L&D, with hands-on responsibility for needs analysis, solution design, and evaluation.
  • Experience working with and launching UK apprenticeships.
  • Experience in a small or scaling organization, ideally in Games or tech.
  • Strong track record of managing stakeholders at different levels.
  • Experience managing external L&D providers and designing progressive learning solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and want to work from the Cambridge office on a regular basis (at least twice a fortnight).
  • Experience with learning platforms, HRIS (e.g., Bob), and collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams).
  • Facilitation experience.
