Location: Hybrid, with at least two days per week (40% of working time) in an office in Manchester, Bristol, Halifax, Leeds, or Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

What you will do

• Build and operate GCP networking platform services that enable application teams to develop and modernise solutions.
• Design, deploy, and own secure, reliable, and automated network infrastructure throughout its lifecycle.
• Work with GCP networking services including VPCs, Cloud Interconnect, VPC Peering, Cloud Routers, firewalls, DNS, load balancers, private connectivity, and hybrid NAT.
• Deploy infrastructure as code with Terraform and use modern DevOps tooling such as Git, Terraform Cloud, GitHub, and Harness.
• Review code, support colleagues, and resolve networking issues across production and non-production environments.
• Participate in an on-call rota and collaborate across teams to improve platform resilience, security, observability, and automation.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience engineering GCP networking in enterprise environments.
• Strong Terraform expertise and experience deploying infrastructure as code.
• Practical DevOps experience with modern source control and infrastructure tooling.
• Experience designing, deploying, and owning services with security, compliance, and reliability built in.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with at least two days per week in one of the listed UK offices.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining large-scale GCP networking or hybrid connectivity environments.
• Knowledge of Network Connectivity Centre and GCP networking for compute, database, storage, data, and AI platforms.
• Familiarity with Python or Bash for infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of enterprise networking concepts, IP management, proxies, firewalls, Infoblox, or identity platforms.
• Experience with monitoring and telemetry systems such as Dynatrace or Google Cloud Monitoring, or relevant GCP certifications.
