Backend Engineer

What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend services using Python and Django or equivalent frameworks
• Design distributed systems and improve service reliability
• Shape long-term architectural strategy for backend systems
• Build and maintain HTTP/REST APIs, GraphQL, and asynchronous processing with Celery
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, operations, and data
• Support scaling of business energy products across multiple countries

Requirements

• Must be able to work in the UK
• Experience with Python and Django or equivalent web frameworks
• Strong understanding of domain modelling and distributed systems
• Experience with HTTP/REST APIs, GraphQL, and async processing
• Knowledge of Postgres and fault-tolerant software design
• English proficiency at least B2 level

• Experience with AWS, Terraform, Packer, and Consul
