What you will do

• Develop and maintain high-quality, fault-tolerant backend services for business energy customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, marketing, and data to drive product impact.
• Design distributed systems and define long-term architectural strategies.
• Improve service reliability and performance for large-scale energy products.
• Model complex business domains to support rapid scaling across multiple countries.
• Work with modern API technologies including REST and GraphQL.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in the UK.
• Strong proficiency in Python and web frameworks like Django.
• Experience with database design and management using Postgres.
• Practical knowledge of designing and maintaining distributed systems.
• Experience with asynchronous processing tasks, preferably using Celery.
• Strong understanding of HTTP and modern API development standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Infrastructure as code knowledge (Terraform, Packer).
• Familiarity with service discovery tools like Consul.
