TL;DR

Senior Strategic Account Executive (Public Sector): Developing key relationships with influential nonprofits and social enterprises and driving new customer acquisition with an accent on public sector expertise, strategic programs, and revenue growth. Focus on building relationships at the C-level, navigating complex technical solutions, and structuring strategic deals to amplify social impact.

Location: Remote (US), but not eligible to be hired in CT, NJ, NY, WA, PA or the surrounding areas of San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, or San Jose, CA. Approximately 25% travel is anticipated for customer and team connection.

Salary: $132,192–$183,600 USD (yearly, varies by US location) plus commissions and equity plan eligibility.

What you will do

  • Acquire new public sector customers and achieve net new bookings quota.
  • Establish deep relationships with strategic prospective customers, understanding their mission, strategy, and technology needs.
  • Leverage public sector expertise (US State & Local Government, Higher Education) to drive social impact and territory expansion.
  • Drive revenue and market share within government, nonprofit, and social enterprise industries.
  • Manage and expand the pipeline of new customer opportunities utilizing Salesforce.
  • Qualify, negotiate, close, and manage strategic relationships for platform adoption and revenue.

Requirements

  • 5-8+ years of sales or consulting experience with a focus on public sector organizations, including extensive industry contacts.
  • 12+ years of experience selling complex, technical products or relevant customer-facing consulting experience.
  • Deep experience in the Public Sector partner ecosystem and co-selling with partners.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships at the C-level internally and externally.
  • Technical understanding of software, APIs, cloud, and enterprise software.
  • Proven experience developing, negotiating, and structuring complex deals from scratch.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Strong execution skills, results-driven, detail-oriented, and organized self-starter.

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of experience in a revenue-generating role within technology.
  • Familiarity with public sector contracting, pricing, and ecosystem processes.
  • Working knowledge of State/Local Government and Higher Ed market dynamics.
