TL;DR

Solution Architect (Medtech): Modernizing a medical device software platform by transitioning from legacy frameworks to a containerized, server-based web architecture with an accent on technical strategy and scalability. Focus on aligning architectural decisions across Scrum teams, facilitating cross-team communication, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a medical environment.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Hamburg, Germany. Hybrid role requiring 3-4 days onsite per week.

What you will do

  • Define the target architecture and roadmap for platform modernization.
  • Drive decomposition strategies, refactoring, and stability during migration.
  • Align architectural decisions across multiple Scrum teams and provide strategic guardrails.
  • Act as an escalation point and bridge between business product roadmaps and technical implementation.
  • Ensure sustainable modernization and meet cybersecurity and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Participate in the architecture board and communicate decisions to leadership.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in strategic technical leadership across multiple teams.
  • Deep understanding of scalable systems, integration patterns, and DevSecOps.
  • Experience with large-scale software modernization projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Hamburg, Germany, 3-4 days per week.

Nice to have

  • Experience in regulated industries (MDR, FDA, GDPR).
  • Previous background in medical device software development.
