TL;DR

Senior Database Administrator (Infrastructure/DBA): Managing and optimizing complex relational database environments across broadcast and corporate platforms with an accent on performance tuning, resilience, and HA/DR strategies. Focus on implementing secure database solutions, leading incident resolution, and supporting the migration from on-premise infrastructure to cloud-based operations.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to London (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to £62,500 plus London Weighting

What you will do

  • Install, configure, and maintain relational databases including Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
  • Monitor and tune database performance to ensure platform resilience and reliability.
  • Implement and manage secure, highly available database solutions alongside system vendors and internal teams.
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis, including out-of-hours support.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for project and product deliveries.
  • Support the transition of database infrastructure to cloud platforms.

Requirements

  • Expertise in at least three major RDBMS: Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, T-SQL/PL-SQL, and scripting with Python or PowerShell.
  • Experience with monitoring tools, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies.
  • Solid understanding of replication, clustering, and HA/DR configurations.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance implementation.
  • Must be based in London or able to commute for the hybrid role.

Nice to have

  • Experience with cloud-based database platforms.
  • Knowledge of containerisation technologies and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with automation workflows and Machine Learning concepts.
