Location: Mountain View, United States. Employees within a 50-mile commute are expected to work from the office at least four days per week.

Salary: $158,400 – $258,000 per year (Bay Area range)

What you will do

• Advance LLM post-training and alignment techniques to improve reasoning, safety, and controllability.
• Architect and refine RAG pipelines to enhance retrieval fidelity and reduce hallucinations in production.
• Optimize retrieval and ranking systems to integrate deeply with LLM-powered search experiences.
• Translate research findings into scalable, reliable model improvements through hypothesis-driven experimentation.
• Collaborate across research, engineering, and product teams to shape long-term search strategy.
• Mentor junior team members and engage with the academic community to strengthen the recruiting pipeline.

Requirements

• PhD with 1+ year, Master's with 3+ years, or Bachelor's with 4+ years of experience in Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Strong expertise in applying Machine Learning techniques within an industry setting.
• Proficiency in coding with Python, C++, C#, C, or Java.
• Must be able to pass hirify.global Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years thereafter.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) with 6+ or 3+ years of relevant experience respectively.
• 5+ years of professional coding experience.
• 3+ years of industry-specific ML application experience.
