Technical Architect (Shopify)

What you will do

• Lead 2–3 large commerce projects and ensure high-quality delivery with the engineering team.
• Lead migrations from platforms such as BigCommerce, Salesforce, Magento, and WooCommerce to Shopify.
• Oversee Shopify storefronts, headless architectures, themes, apps, subscriptions, and integrations across online and POS experiences.
• Lead ERP, CMS, OMS, WMS, IMS, third-party app, and API integrations.
• Oversee frontend development with React, Hydrogen, Next.js, and Remix, as well as backend development with Node, Python, Go, or Ruby.
• Support engineers, consult with client stakeholders, and guide technical decisions and delivery practices.

Requirements

• Deep experience in software and system architecture.
• Strong understanding of the Shopify ecosystem, including markets, checkout extensibility, functions, analytics, mobile, testing, Liquid, and theme development.
• Experience with Shopify implementations, commerce platform migrations, ERP integrations, iPaaS solutions, CMS integrations, and OMS/WMS/IMS workflows.
• Ability to investigate ambiguous technical problems, make informed decisions, and propose solutions proactively.
• Strong client communication, consulting, leadership, collaboration, adaptability, and judgment.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment with varied projects and technology stacks.

Nice to have

• Experience with NetSuite, Sanity, Contentful, Manhattan, Recharge, Ordergroove, Upscribe, or Shopify Native Subscriptions API.
• Experience developing and launching private or public Shopify App Store applications.
