Technical Architect (Shopify)

TL;DR

Technical Architect (Shopify): Lead development of scalable commerce projects across the Shopify ecosystem, including migrations, ERP and CMS integrations, and app development with an accent on system architecture and seamless frontend/backend integration. Focus on leading complex commerce implementations, headless frontend frameworks, and robust backend solutions.

What you will do

• Lead 2-3 large Shopify commerce projects ensuring delivery excellence
• Manage migrations from other commerce platforms to Shopify
• Lead ERP (e.g. Netsuite) and CMS (e.g. Sanity, Contentful) integrations
• Oversee headless frontend development using React, Hydrogen, Next.js, Remix
• Oversee backend development with Node, Python, Go, or Ruby
• Lead Shopify app store development and third-party app integrations

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada or able to work remotely from Canada
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills in technical architecture
• Deep understanding of Shopify ecosystem and commerce infrastructure
• Experience with ERP, OMS, WMS integrations and headless commerce
• Excellent communication and client consulting skills
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, startup-like environment

Nice to have

• Experience with AI and modern tooling
• Familiarity with subscriptions and Shopify’s Native Subscriptions API
