What you will do
- Define and govern grant data standards and API contracts for modernization systems.
- Design, implement, and operate production-grade APIs and shared components in Python and TypeScript.
- Build and maintain developer tools such as SDKs, CLIs, validators, and test utilities.
- Develop ETL pipelines, dashboards, and automated reporting for delivery metrics and KPIs.
- Implement workflow automation using scripts and GitHub Actions to streamline deployments.
- Own public-facing documentation, collaborating on content strategy and UX/design.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to solve technical challenges and communicate design decisions.
- Support team growth through mentorship, code reviews, and participation in hiring.
Requirements
- Must have lived and worked in the United States for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
- 7+ years as a Software Engineer with experience in complex architectures and multiple languages.
- 5+ years experience with TypeScript or Python and SQL including raw queries.
- Experience with self-organization, pragmatic decision-making, and Agile methodologies.
- Incorporate AI and emerging technologies to improve work efficiency and quality.
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment with a strong sense of experimentation.
Nice to have
- Experience contributing to or maintaining open source libraries.
- Development experience in cloud environments like AWS or Azure.
- Expertise in CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with the U.S. Web Design System and government agency experience.
