Character FX Artist (CFX)

Location: Remote freelance within ±2 hours of Budapest (CET); full-time employment is available in Hungary.

What you will do

• Simulate cloth and hair movements and deformations for character shots in stylized 3D animated projects.
• Respect physical motion principles and the director’s artistic intentions.
• Adjust dynamic cloth and hair setups and configure character simulation parameters.
• Collaborate closely with project leads and occasionally with animation and rigging teams.

Requirements

• Production-level knowledge of Autodesk Maya simulation tools, including nCloth and nHair.
• Production experience in character FX and familiarity with cloth and hair motion dynamics.
• Strong imagination and aesthetic sense.
• Fluent English.
• Portfolio or digital gallery featuring relevant artwork.

Nice to have

• Basic rigging and modeling skills or experience.
• Experience with Marvelous Designer simulation.
• Basic knowledge of Houdini Vellum.
