Character FX Artist

TL;DR

Character FX Artist: Simulating cloth and hair movements and deformations in 3D animated projects with an accent on stylized physical attributions and artistic intentions. Focus on tweaking dynamic setups, setting simulation parameters, and close cooperation with project leads and other teams.

Location: Full-time employment available onsite in Hungary or freelance contract for candidates within a European time zone.

What you will do

• Simulate cloth and hair movements and deformations in 3D animated project shots, adhering to stylized physics and artistic direction.
• Adjust dynamic cloth and hair setups, defining simulation parameters for characters.
• Collaborate closely with project leads, animation, and rigging teams.

Requirements

• Production experience in CFX.
• Production-level knowledge of Autodesk Maya's simulation tools (nCloth, nHair).
• Strong imagination and aesthetic sense.
• Familiarity with motion dynamics of cloth and hair.
• English: C1+ (Fluency in English required).

Nice to have

• Basic rigging and modeling skills or experience.
• Experience with Marvelous Designer for simulation.
• Basic knowledge of Houdini Vellum.
