What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain backend payment systems and event-driven microservices.
• Integrate with global partner APIs ensuring security and compliance (PCI, data privacy).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable software.
• Optimize database performance and tune MySQL/PostgreSQL systems.
• Leverage modern infrastructure tools like Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Terraform.
• Drive technical excellence through clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

Requirements

• Must have 5+ years of PHP backend development experience.
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL including tuning and optimization.
• 1+ years designing event-driven microservices in PHP or Java.
• Strong understanding of security and compliance in payment systems (PCI-DSS preferred).
• Ability to work remotely across multiple time zones in Europe, Latin America, or North America.
• English proficiency at least B2 level.

Nice to have

• Experience in the payments domain or travel industry.
• Knowledge of Domain Driven Design and large-scale software engineering.
