What you will do

• Own and drive the technical roadmap and implementation across multiple backend areas balancing business priorities.
• Lead technical architecture decisions and system design for scalable, secure backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with leadership, product, and cross-functional teams to set strategy and influence product direction.
• Develop and maintain backend services using cloud-native Azure technologies, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Champion software best practices, infrastructure as code, and DevSecOps principles.
• Mentor engineers and foster a strong engineering culture.

Requirements

• Location: Based in San Francisco or remote within the U.S.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in fintech or payments infrastructure.
• Strong backend skills in C#, C++, Go, Java, or Python.
• Proficiency with Azure cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling.
• Security-first mindset with knowledge of AuthN, AuthZ, API security, encryption, and crypto concepts.
• Experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
