Location: Redmond, United States. Employees must live within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. and are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law.

Salary: USD $163,000 – $296,400 per year (typical U.S. base pay range). For San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area, the range is USD $220,800 – $331,200 per year.

What you will do

• Partner with engineering, product, and developer stakeholders to understand user workflows and requirements.
• Lead end-to-end architectural design, defining system dependencies, principles, and technical direction.
• Design and build foundational platform components, frameworks, and tooling for enterprise scale.
• Serve as the authoritative subject-matter expert on internal platform features, driving roadmap planning and execution.
• Act as a senior DRI in a DevOps operating model, shaping playbooks and leading incident response.
• Continuously research and evaluate emerging technologies and best practices to improve platform reliability and developer experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience with massively scaled and distributed systems.
• Ability to design, implement, and rollout features with data-driven and test-driven methodology.
• English: B2 required.
