Salary: $188,000 – $304,200 USD per year (New York City metropolitan area)

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team building AI-powered analytics for Copilot usage and quality metrics.
• Own technical strategy for trend detection, cohort analysis, and drill-down workflows.
• Prototype and productionize ML models for anomaly detection and predictive insights.
• Ensure compliance and security for data handling across telemetry, logs, and conversation datasets.
• Collaborate with PMs, data scientists, and UX to define roadmap and deliver intuitive, high-impact workflows.
• Drive integration with existing platforms (Azure Data Bricks and other Microsoft internal systems) and ensure reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience.
• Proficiency in coding languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Proven experience leading small engineering and machine learning teams.
• Solid experience in ML systems, anomaly detection, and large-scale data processing.
• Ability to independently write efficient, readable, extensible code and model pipelines.
• Location: Expected to work from a designated Microsoft office in New York at least four days a week if living within 50 miles (U.S.) of that location.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's with 12+ years.
• Experience writing production-quality Python or Java code.
• Demonstrated interest in Responsible AI.
