What you will do

• Stabilize and scale the WhatsApp platform to handle millions of messages daily with high availability and fault tolerance.
• Optimize resource usage and reduce cloud costs while improving platform performance.
• Lead modernization efforts by refactoring legacy systems and introducing scalable architectural patterns.
• Strengthen security, compliance, and data protection across the platform.
• Improve developer velocity through tooling, observability, and automation enhancements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and mentor engineers while driving the technical roadmap.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Delhi, India
• 6+ years of backend engineering experience with expertise in distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Strong skills in Node.js, MongoDB, API design, and microservices architecture.
• Proven ability to architect scalable, high-performance systems in production.
• Experience guiding technical architecture and mentoring engineering teams.
• Good communication skills and experience with CI/CD and automated testing.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI tools and contributions to open-source or internal platforms.
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular and fullstack development.
