Movement Communications Specialist (PR Communications): Lead and execute communications campaigns and storytelling to connect and amplify voices of Wikimedia volunteers globally with an accent on multicultural and multilingual content creation. Location: Remote within UTC -7 to UTC +1 timezones, based in one of the approved countries including United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and others.

Salary: $76,765–$117,457 (US-based applicants, adjusted for other countries)

What you will do

• Build consistency and centralize Foundation communications aimed at the Wikimedia movement.
• Create accessible, translatable storytelling across multiple mediums and topics.
• Engage with movement members across cultures to support and showcase their work.
• Organize and communicate around community events including the global Wikimania event.
• Support leadership communications with the Board of Trustees and executives.
• Measure and report on communications success and support the Movement Communications team.

Requirements

• Must be based in a timezone between UTC -7 to UTC +1 to collaborate effectively with global teams and volunteers.
• 4+ years experience in multicultural and multilingual communications.
• Experience in journalism, advocacy, community or political organizing, or mission-driven communications.
• Proven ability to tell compelling stories across languages and cultures in various formats.
• Experience with content creation including graphics, audio, and video.
• Experience organizing large-scale virtual and in-person events.
• Fluency in at least one additional language besides English.

• Experience contributing to Wikimedia projects or editing wikis.
• Experience working in remote-first, globally distributed environments.
