Senior Software Engineer, Ads (Backend)

Location: Remote - United States. Remote work may be available in countries where Reddit has a physical presence.

Base salary: $190,800–$267,100 USD per year, plus potential equity and commission depending on the position offered.

What you will do

• Design and implement advertising products with product managers.
• Build microservices, APIs, distributed ad-serving systems, interactive ad experiences, and real-time campaign measurement systems.
• Collaborate with platform and data teams to deliver new features.
• Improve operational stability through code quality initiatives, dashboards, and data visualizations.
• Build extensible components aligned with product objectives.
• Manage project updates, timelines, and execution.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Java, Scala, Go, C++, or Python.
• Ability to take complete ownership of a feature or project.
• Experience with backend engineering, microservices, distributed systems, and data-intensive services.
• Working knowledge of technologies such as Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, Spark, Postgres, BigQuery, Redis, or Druid.
