Senior Software Engineer (Search & Storage)

Location: Remote for candidates located in Canada or the United States. In-person onboarding is required.

US OTE/base compensation: USD $154,445–$185,334 annually, plus RSUs.

hirify.global develops Grafana Cloud, a managed observability platform built on open source and open standards for monitoring, incident resolution, and telemetry optimization.

What you will do

• Help shape the roadmap and deliver new features for Grafana’s Search & Storage squad.
• Develop and operate the next-generation Unified Storage layer using a Kubernetes-inspired Operator pattern.
• Build and maintain Search, the unified engine for finding and querying Grafana data, and Folders for hierarchical content management.
• Drive projects from ideation and requirements gathering through delivery, operation, and iteration based on customer feedback.
• Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems with ownership of reliability, performance, and availability.
• Participate in on-call rotations, design discussions, open-source projects, mentoring, and team collaboration.

Requirements

• Solid experience with Go, Rust, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with large distributed systems.
• Experience developing software that runs in the cloud or experience with systems engineering.
• Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering and ideation through shipping products to customers in a self-driven manner.
• Experience writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software.
• Ability to analyze complex challenges, design modular solutions, deliver MVPs, gather feedback, and iterate pragmatically.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective work in a fully remote setup.
• Self-starter attitude, bias toward action, customer focus, and interest in creating intuitive products.

Nice to have

• Experience using Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles, during on-call work, or in hobby or homelab projects.
• Familiarity with on-call work, operations/SRE tasks, or infrastructure as code.
