Kernel/Hypervisor Engineer (EC2 Deep Learning Accelerators)

What you will do

• Build new solutions across the virtualization software stack, from design and development through testing and deployment.
• Develop virtualization components and automate infrastructure flows for EC2.
• Engineer new EC2 instance families and contribute to the AWS Nitro Hypervisor.
• Improve hypervisor quality, instance platforms, resilience, and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and firmware teams across global locations.
• Participate in on-call support and perform root-cause analysis for production issues.

Requirements

• Professional, non-internship software development experience.
• Experience designing or architecting reliable and scalable systems.
• Experience with C and C++.
• At least 3 years of experience using the Linux command-line toolbox.
• Understanding of operating system internals and experience with kernel or virtualization technologies.
• Proficiency in at least one CPU architecture, such as x86 or ARM.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience with the full software development life cycle, including code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.
