TL;DR

Team Leader (Elixir Backend): Manage and develop a small product team of backend and frontend engineers with an accent on backend development using Elixir/Phoenix. Focus on team dynamics, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and promoting diversity and inclusion.

Location: Anywhere in the world (fully hirify.global)

Salary: $73,150–$164,600 USD annually

What you will do

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers (backend and frontend).
  • Spend 30% of time on management and actively participate in product development.
  • Lead hiring and onboarding processes for your team.
  • Manage team dynamics and act as spokesperson for the team.
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Support career growth and development of direct reports.

Requirements

  • Must have managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive experience with backend development using Elixir/Phoenix.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Good understanding of team dynamics and ability to inspire confidence.
