What you will do

• Lead technical strategy and roadmap for data and evaluation systems supporting Gemini models and applications.
• Architect and execute rigorous evaluation and data pipelines for model release and product launch decisions.
• Research and develop novel evaluation methods including automated, human-in-the-loop, and adversarial techniques.
• Mentor engineers and researchers to build reproducible, high-quality evaluation systems.
• Communicate complex evaluation results to leadership to guide responsible AI deployment.
• Contribute to the scientific community by presenting cutting-edge AI evaluation and safety research.

Requirements

• Location: Must be onsite in Mountain View, California, US
• 10+ years research engineering experience with 5+ years in technical leadership.
• Expertise in large-scale machine learning systems, data pipelines, and evaluation methodologies.
• Experience with large language models (LLMs) and post-training evaluation research.
• Strong software engineering and statistical analysis skills.
• English proficiency at least B2 level.
