Salary: $211,250 - $385,000 USD

What you will do

• Define and drive the technical strategy for the Search & Recommendations platform to align with business goals and scalability.
• Lead, grow, and develop a high-performing organization of software and machine learning engineers.
• Deliver a unified matching platform encompassing search, recommendations, conversational experiences, and agentic workflows.
• Modernize search infrastructure by migrating legacy systems to high-performance architectures with clear APIs.
• Partner with product, ML, data science, and executive leadership to prioritize roadmaps and translate platform decisions into business outcomes.
• Champion engineering excellence in system reliability, latency, and responsible AI development.

Requirements

• Significant experience leading engineering teams in high-scale environments.
• Strong track record of delivering search, recommendations, ranking, or retrieval systems.
• Deep technical fluency in distributed systems, data pipelines, and modern ML infrastructure.
• Proven success managing integrated teams of software and machine learning engineers.
• Must be based in the United States (hiring available in 21 states).
• Applied understanding of AI-native engineering workflows to accelerate design and delivery.
