TL;DR

Head Of Digital (Ecommerce): Leading and managing the digital ecosystem to drive commercial success across online channels with an accent on performance marketing, SEO, conversion optimisation, and data-led insights. Location: 5 days in office near Darlington, UK

Salary: up to £80,000 per annum

What you will do

  • Define and execute digital strategy to drive business growth and manage digital P&L and budgets.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing digital team.
  • Oversee all digital acquisition channels including PPC, Paid Social, SEO, Affiliate, Email, and Retargeting.
  • Manage e-commerce platform roadmap and deliver a high-performance, mobile-first UX/UI.
  • Drive data-led approach with KPIs, accurate tracking, reporting, and analytics issue resolution.
  • Monitor trends and emerging technologies such as AI and omnichannel to enhance digital capabilities.

Requirements

  • Must have 5+ years in senior digital leadership in e-commerce or retail.
  • Strong commercial acumen with digital P&L ownership and growth delivery.
  • Expertise in digital advertising, PPC, performance marketing, SEO, and conversion optimisation.
  • Proficient in Power BI, SQL, API integrations, and data modelling.
  • Experience managing and mentoring digital/marketing teams.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced scale-up environments with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with BI/tracking automation tools and international or multi-brand e-commerce environments.
  • Knowledge of pricing/stock management, warehouse optimisation, and order/channel management platforms.
  • Working knowledge of GA4, Magento/BigCommerce, Klaviyo, Meta Ads, Google Ads, GTM, and cloud hosting.
  • Basic understanding of front-end development concepts and IT stack alignment.
