Salary: $380K – $460K + Equity

What you will do

• Design and run experiments to improve code generation, reasoning, and agentic behavior in Codex models.
• Develop research insights into model training, alignment, and evaluation.
• Identify and address inefficiencies across the Codex system stack to improve performance.
• Build tooling to measure, profile, and optimize system performance at scale.
• Prototype new capabilities, debug complex issues, and ship production improvements.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or relocate to San Francisco, CA
• Strong software engineering skills and experience with ML systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model with 3 days in office per week.
• Experience with large language models, code generation, and system optimization.
• Strong technical fundamentals and bias toward impact in research and engineering.

• Experience with agentic coding and AI system deployment.
