Salary: $500,000 - $850,000 USD

What you will do

• Design and run experiments to improve Claude's perception and agentic capabilities.
• Develop robust evaluation frameworks for measuring model performance on complex computer tasks.
• Build and optimize computer use and vision reinforcement learning (RL) training environments.
• Create pipelines and tools to test and validate complex RL environments.
• Collaborate with model training and infrastructure teams to improve production setups.
• Partner with product teams to translate research advances into production features.

Requirements

• Software engineering experience and proficiency in Python.
• Experience training, fine-tuning, or evaluating machine learning models.
• Must be based in or be able to work from San Francisco, NYC, or Seattle to meet hybrid office requirements.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with reinforcement learning, especially in long-horizon or sparse-reward settings.
• Familiarity with multimodal model training.
• Experience building benchmarks or evaluations for agentic systems.
• Experience with large-scale ML infrastructure or simulation systems.
