Network Engineer Consultant

TL;DR

Location: This position is onsite in Charlotte, NC, with up to 20-30% local travel required. While the ability to work and solve most technical issues through remote support is a must, the primary work location is in the office.

What you will do

• Work as a Field Network Engineer, architecting, monitoring, and maintaining client technology network, cloud, and server infrastructure.
• Serve as a Technology Advisor, meeting with clients to discuss opportunities for technology improvements, including cybersecurity and cloud-based solutions.
• Support client environments through expert administration of Microsoft SQL databases, including backup, log management, and optimization.
• Balance multiple customer requests, smaller projects, and necessary meetings while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in customer support for computer systems, servers, and networking in a Managed Services or similar consulting field.
• Strong skills in network configuration, maintenance of firewalls (e.g., SonicWall, Meraki), switches, and wireless access points.
• Proficiency with Microsoft M365 products, particularly messaging and security solutions.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and participate in E-Verify.
• Willingness to travel locally 1-2 days a week and flexibility for occasional after-hours or weekend work.

Nice to have

• Current certifications in networking or Microsoft technologies.
• Experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, SAGE 300 & 100, Linux, SAN Storage, Mobile deployments, FACTS, and Disaster Recovery.
