TL;DR
Senior Network Engineer (System Engineering): Managing and supporting the backbone and edge network infrastructure with an accent on troubleshooting, automation, and maintaining high-capacity resilient connectivity. Focus on operating large-scale backbone networks, resolving complex routing and optical issues, and automating operational workflows to ensure network stability and performance.
Location: Hybrid work with offices in Livingston, NJ; New York, NY; Sunnyvale, CA; Bellevue, WA. Remote work considered for candidates located more than 30 miles from an office.
Salary: $139,000–$204,000

What you will do
- Operate, monitor, and support backbone and edge networks ensuring stability, performance, and uptime.
- Troubleshoot routing, optical, and transport issues across multi-vendor environments.
- Perform configuration changes, maintenance, and upgrades on network hardware.
- Automate operational workflows to increase efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Collaborate with datacenter, edge, and peering teams for end-to-end network reliability.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical incident escalation.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. person or eligible to access export controlled information per U.S. Government regulations.
- 5+ years experience in network engineering/operations for large-scale telecom or cloud networks.
- Experience with SR-MPLS, ISIS, BGP protocols and multi-vendor NOS like Nokia SROS and Juniper Junos.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to automate tasks using Python or Ansible.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with vendor equipment such as Ciena and Nvidia.
- Knowledge of IP routing, switching principles, and optical networking.
- Familiarity with NetBox and other network automation tools.
