Software Engineer Fullstack (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; in-office 4–5 days per week with flexibility to work from home when focus matters most

Base salary: $180,000–$310,000 per year, plus benefits and equity.

Gamma is building an AI-powered creative and workplace tool for creating presentations, documents, and websites.

What you will do

• Design and implement full-stack AI features using LLMs and image generation models.
• Build, optimize, and evaluate AI workflows with Gamma’s JSX-based prompting framework.
• Experiment with new models and providers to improve content quality, cost, and reliability.
• Integrate AI capabilities into intuitive user-facing experiences serving millions of daily requests.
• Collaborate with product and design to turn AI capabilities into polished features.
• Optimize AI performance and cost at scale while balancing quality, speed, and reliability.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building production web applications with strong full-stack fundamentals.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Node.js or similar technologies.
• Production experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI/ML systems.
• Familiarity with frontend engineering, state management, data models, and API design.
• Strong product sense and the ability to translate technical AI capabilities into user value.
• Curiosity, self-direction, and a willingness to work in person in San Francisco.

• Experience building AI-powered consumer products.
