What you will do
- Implement multiplayer and networked features and create server builds for games
- Develop standalone peripheral systems such as lobby, matchmaking, and ranking
- Write clean, maintainable code and conduct code reviews
- Analyze network traffic and optimize network performance
- Take ownership of large codebase areas and mission-critical features
- Collaborate with engineering and non-engineering teams to deliver features timely
Requirements
- Must reside in Japan during employment
- 3+ years professional software engineering experience in Japan, 2+ years in game server development
- Strong experience with C++ and C# and networking protocols
- Conversational Japanese proficiency JLPT N3 or above
- English proficiency sufficient for technical communication
- Experience with multiplayer integration and server builds for Unreal or proprietary engines
Nice to have
- Experience with Go, Java, shell scripting
- Experience with other game engines like Unity
- At least 3 years in the video game industry and released game experience
