What you will do

• Design and develop secure, scalable, and efficient backend services using modern frameworks and tools.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to define APIs and data contracts.
• Design and optimize database schemas and write performant SQL queries.
• Integrate third-party services and apply security best practices.
• Write comprehensive tests and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews and document system architecture.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python or Go and experience with RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in remote, distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with message brokers like RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and container orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of API security standards and Linux system administration.
