What you will do

• Design and conduct optical experiments linking nanostructure fabrication to waveguide performance.
• Develop and refine custom experimental setups for waveguide and eyepiece characterization.
• Innovate optical metrology techniques to extract high-fidelity data on optical effects and efficiency.
• Collaborate with fabrication, metrology, and design teams to improve manufacturing processes.
• Analyze experimental results using software tools and provide insights into optical architectures.
• Propose and implement new measurement methodologies to overcome characterization limitations.

Requirements

• Must be located onsite in Austin, TX.
• Relocation assistance available for non-local candidates.
• 8+ years experience in optical bench system design and scientific measurements.
• Strong background in optical system experimentation and prototyping.
• Experience with scientific programming, image processing, and large dataset analysis.
• 3D CAD design and lab setup experience.

• Proficiency in Python and C++ for scientific and performance-critical applications.
• Background in computational electromagnetics and machine learning for scientific applications.
