What you will do

• Contribute as a core developer to Apache Hive and related open source projects.
• Develop and optimize data warehouse solutions for large-scale analytical workloads.
• Enhance HiveQL query optimization and metastore architecture for improved performance.
• Improve integration of Hive with HDFS, Spark, and table formats like Iceberg.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on system integration and deployment.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Strong expertise in data warehousing and large-scale batch processing systems.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Proficiency in Java and understanding of Apache Hive architecture including metastore and Hadoop integration.
• Experience in performance tuning of distributed systems at scale.
• Core contributions to Apache open source projects such as Hive, Spark, or Hadoop.
