Salary: $124,000 - $240,000

What you will do

• Lead the CDN, proxy, and edge caching infrastructure team ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Operate critical systems focusing on latency, reliability, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
• Translate product and business goals into a clear technical roadmap and strategy.
• Grow and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of trust, autonomy, and high output.
• Balance technical involvement with delegation, coaching, and alignment across teams.

Requirements

• Must have 8+ years experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems and 3+ years managing engineers.
• Proven leadership in CDN, proxy, caching, or edge infrastructure with high throughput and low latency.
• Ability to translate business goals into technical strategy and drive cross-organizational alignment.
• Strong people leadership skills including trust building, psychological safety, and feedback.
• Competence in HTTP, TLS, caching strategies, load shedding, capacity planning, observability, and cost optimization.
• Location requirement: Hybrid role based in San Francisco, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, Lua, or Node.js at the edge.
• Experience running high-signal hiring pipelines.
• Collaboration experience with product and marketing teams on customer narratives.
