What you will do

• Build scalable and reliable backend systems primarily using Ruby on Rails and other modern technologies.
• Optimize APIs and data models with PostgreSQL and other storage systems including NoSQL and vector databases.
• Collaborate on integrating AI-driven features ensuring production readiness and maintainability.
• Implement automated testing and continuous improvements for performance, security, and reliability.
• Work closely with product owners, designers, and developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews fostering a collaborative environment.

Requirements

• Must have 7+ years of backend engineering experience with at least 3+ years in Ruby on Rails.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL; familiarity with NoSQL or vector databases is a plus.
• Proficiency in automated testing frameworks and CI/CD best practices.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and modern development workflows.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English in a remote-first environment.
• Ability to work remotely within Europe.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, Rust, Elixir, or Node.js backend frameworks.
• Exposure to AI/ML services and data-intensive workflows.
• Knowledge of Redis, Sidekiq, Memcached, GraphQL.
