hirify.global Sports Lab is a new studio at hirify.global focused on pushing game development boundaries to create groundbreaking sports franchises.

What you will do

  • Develop and optimize cinematic authoring tools and runtime systems for in-game sequences and scripted events.
  • Extend and customize Unreal Engine's Sequencer tool for complex narrative needs.
  • Create advanced, reusable in-game camera systems for gameplay and cinematic moments.
  • Integrate and optimize facial animation and dialog systems for synchronized narrative audio and lip-sync.
  • Collaborate with Animation, Narrative, and Level Design teams to improve workflows and tool usability.
  • Profile and optimize cinematic and narrative code for high frame rates and stability.

Requirements

  • Location: Must be able to work onsite or hybrid in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada
  • 5+ years professional software engineering experience in game development or interactive media.
  • Expert-level modern C++ skills and experience with Unreal Engine 4/5 source code, especially Sequencer and cinematic systems.
  • Experience with procedural animation rigs, branching dialogue systems, and localization workflows.
  • Strong collaboration skills bridging technical and creative teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience with rigging pipelines, skeletal mesh systems, or procedural animation technologies.
  • Experience with state machines or behavior trees for scripted events and scene logic.
  • Portfolio demonstrating shipped titles or interactive projects with high-fidelity cinematic presentations.
