Automation Engineer (PLC)

Location: Maia, Portugal; the role includes onsite testing, customer-site commissioning, and national and international mobility for approximately 35% of the time.

What you will do

• Design complex systems integrating hardware and software.
• Prepare material specifications, schematics, technical documentation, and user manuals.
• Program equipment using PLC and HMI technologies and parameterize electronic equipment.
• Test automation products onsite, identify nonconformities, investigate root causes, and propose corrective actions.
• Commission systems at customer sites and conduct client training sessions.
• Recommend improvements to productivity, costs, customer satisfaction, and engineering standards.

Requirements

• College degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Automation Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in similar automation engineering roles.
• Professional experience with PLC programming, inverter parameter adjustment, and automation project testing.
• Knowledge of SIMATIC TIA Portal V16, including STEP 7 and WinCC.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Availability for national and international mobility and regular customer-site work.
