Senior Software Security Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; or Seattle, WA. Hybrid policy: staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time.

Annual salary: $320,000–$405,000 USD.

What you will do

• Build and maintain identity and secrets management systems, including credential issuance, rotation, and workload authentication across multi-cloud environments.
• Implement cluster and cloud security controls covering RBAC, namespace isolation, workload identity, IAM, network segmentation, VPC architecture, and encryption.
• Design secure development frameworks and libraries for service-to-service authentication, serialization, and tool proxying.
• Harden CI/CD pipelines against supply chain attacks through isolated builds, signed attestations, dependency verification, and policy enforcement.
• Identify and remediate security gaps through code review, threat modeling, debugging, infrastructure-as-code scanning, and automated remediation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience implementing and maintaining security-relevant production systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python or a systems language such as Go or Rust.
• Experience contributing to cloud security controls and owning problems from identification through deployment and monitoring of fixes.
• Clear communication, collaborative working style, low ego, and high empathy.
• Visa sponsorship is available, subject to role and candidate eligibility.

Nice to have

• Experience with developer security tooling, including SAST, dependency scanning, or secure build infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes security primitives, cloud security posture management, infrastructure-as-code scanning, or automated remediation.
• Experience with network isolation, eBPF security monitoring, kernel security policies, secrets management, or workload authentication.
• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, or SPIFFE/SPIRE.
• Experience operating security systems in research and rapid-iteration environments.
