Tech Lead (Adtech)

Tech Lead (Adtech): Contributing to the development and maintenance of high-performance backend solutions for a mobile advertising platform with an accent on microservice architecture, API design, database performance, and data processing at scale. Focus on leading cross-functional engineering teams, making architectural decisions, and ensuring reliable asynchronous communication for billions of daily API events.

Location: Hybrid in Hamburg, Germany. Relocation to Hamburg is supported.

What you will do

• Contribute to backend development in Go for demand solutions, maintaining microservice architecture.
• Utilize event buses (Kafka, SQS/SNS, Kinesis) for reliable asynchronous microservice communication.
• Work with modern databases like DynamoDB and build/improve Druid queries for data analysis.
• Manage collection and aggregation of billions of daily API events for fast querying.
• Design and maintain APIs for external partners for reporting and campaign configuration.
• Lead and scale the adtech platform for hundreds of millions of monthly active users.

Requirements

• 7+ years in software engineering, including several years in lead roles (e.g., Tech Lead, Software Architect).
• Proven senior-level experience, making architectural decisions, and leading cross-functional teams.
• Outstanding experience with Go in a professional backend environment.
• Expertise in frontend technologies (React/TypeScript), Columnar Databases (Druid, Clickhouse), and streaming systems (Kafka).
• Experience processing and visualizing large amounts of data.
• Thorough understanding of cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Comfortable managing people, with prior leadership experience including performance management.
• Ability to connect business and tech to implement ideas, ready for multi-tasking and stakeholder management.
• English: B2 required
