Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to Berlin, Germany (Hybrid model with 2 days per week in the office).

What you will do

• Partner with product management to define technical direction and design scalable, iterative solutions.
• Own team KPIs and metrics to ensure system visibility, alerting, and high performance.
• Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering both technical and soft skill development.
• Manage technical and non-technical stakeholders to overcome delivery challenges and align with business goals.
• Support incident resolution and refine on-call practices to ensure system reliability.
• Navigate cross-functional dependencies across backend, frontend, data science, and analytics teams.

Requirements

• Leadership experience: Minimum 2 years in a management or leadership role.
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java and a strong understanding of core programming paradigms.
• Experience with API-based (HTTP, gRPC) and event-based (Kafka, SQS/SNS) communication architectures.
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, AWS).
• Language requirement: Professional proficiency in English.
• Location requirement: Must be able to work from the Berlin campus 2 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in food delivery, ride-hailing, or gig economy sectors.
