Core & Connectivity Product Engineer (PHP/Laravel)

Location: Remote worldwide; the role is not tied to a specific country. The ideal fit can work under European or American timezones.

Salary: USD 134,450–167,258 per year, depending on the cost of living. International contractors may be hired; employees can be hired in the United States, European Union, or Australia.

What you will do

• Develop new features and maintain the foundational core platform.
• Maintain existing OTA connections and build integrations with future connectivity partners.
• Improve partner API resilience, downtime recovery, and edge-case coverage.
• Shape product features from concept to launch and iterate using customer feedback.
• Build and ship maintainable user experiences in collaboration with product, sales, customer success, and engineering.
• Use observability tooling, resolve performance and resource issues, and refactor core code for maintainability and testability.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with a backend focus.
• Significant production experience with Laravel, PHP 7+, MySQL, and testing pipelines; Laravel experience is required.
• Ability to write testable, maintainable, and intuitive code while prioritizing customer and business value.
• Ability to reason through complex systems, non-obvious usage scenarios, and ripple effects.
• Strong written communication, empathy, self-motivation, and decision-making skills in a distributed environment.
• Availability to work under European or American timezones.

Nice to have

• Experience with queue- or job-centric backends.
• Experience building production systems that depend on critical data ingestion from third-party APIs.
