Senior Data Engineer

TL;DR

(Senior) Data Engineer (German Speaking): Designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures for clients, with an accent on Big Data, cloud infrastructure, and distributed algorithms. Focus on transforming diverse data sources into business-ready insights and collaborating on machine learning model creation.

Location: This is a hybrid role based in Germany, with offices in Eschborn, Stuttgart, Hannover, Munich, and Hamburg.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and architectures.
• Navigate Big Data environments in cloud or on-premises data centers.
• Access diverse data sources efficiently and reproducibly.
• Design, test, and monitor distributed data processing pipelines.
• Collaborate with data scientists on machine learning model creation.
• Develop meaningful dashboards to visualize processed data.

Requirements

• Comfortable with Big Data, massively scalable databases, cloud infrastructures, and distributed algorithms.
• Several years of experience in technical roles with a passion for sustainable software development.
• Expertise in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience or a strong interest in Apache Spark, Airflow, RDBMS & NoSQL Databases, and DevOps.
• Good understanding and experience with Amazon AWS and MS Azure.
• Hold a university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar field.
• Fluency in both German and English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience working on Data Platform projects using Databricks.
