Senior Backend Software Engineer

Location: Remote for candidates based in EMEA, LATAM, or North America

What you will do

• Build reliable backend systems and design APIs that enable new product features.
• Own complex, central components of the application and deliver features from rough specifications.
• Develop a scalable, stable, and user-friendly product capable of supporting continued growth.
• Ship product improvements regularly and solve usability problems with elegant technical solutions.
• Collaborate with product, design, customer success, support, sales, and experienced software engineers.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to other engineers while working directly with the co-founders.

Requirements

• Experience designing and maintaining complex, large, or rapidly growing systems.
• Ability to evaluate edge cases, failure modes, bottlenecks, migrations, releases, and system metrics.
• Strong debugging skills and a focus on finding the root cause of production issues.
• Proactive approach to fixing broken systems and proposing improvements.
• Commitment to engineering best practices and thoroughly tested software.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, or Redis is useful, but prior experience with the full stack is not required.
