Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Location: Remote engineers must be located in the US Eastern, Central, or Mountain Time Zones. Contractors may be located in the EU. Hybrid and remote work models are available based on proximity to office hubs, and travel to team and company offsites several times a year is expected.

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable services and applications that improve user experience and support business growth.
• Participate in the full development lifecycle, from ideation and solution evaluation through implementation, testing, and support.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and agile engineering teams to deliver technical solutions.
• Maintain application performance, uptime, scalability, code quality, and thoughtful system design.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of new features and provide estimates for implementation approaches.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and growth support to junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with Java and SQL databases.
• Experience working cross-functionally in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
• Strong product sense, communication skills, work ethic, and ownership.
• Remote US candidates must be located in the Eastern, Central, or Mountain Time Zones.

Nice to have

• Experience with React.
• Experience with AWS.
