TL;DR
Data Analyst II (Fintech): Providing analytical support across Valon's operational business, including audit/exam fulfillment, SLA monitoring, performance management, and custom reporting with an accent on improving operational visibility, supporting externally-facing reports to clients, and creating internally-facing dashboards. Focus on partnering with business leaders, contributing to scalable solutions, and maintenance of SLA reporting process.
Location: This Base Compensation pay range applies to our New York City located staff and may differ according to location.
Salary: $105,000 - $140,000 USD

Valon is building the AI-native operating system for regulated finance, starting with mortgage servicing.
What you will do
- Develop knowledge and expertise around the data tables across all areas of the business.
- Write SQL queries, build dashboards, and conduct ad hoc analysis to help operational leaders understand business performance and make effective decisions.
- Assist with third-party audit, exam, and regulatory reporting.
- Support the maintenance and improvement of Valon’s SLA reporting process.
- Collaborate with other data analysts and data engineers to recommend and implement improvements to data models.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of full-time work experience in data analytics or business intelligence, ideally at a mortgage servicer, financial institution, or other regulated industry.
- Strong proficiency in SQL (Python skills a plus).
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Hex, Looker, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and a willingness to learn quickly.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
