Software Engineer/Data Engineer – Martech Team (Java)

Location: Hybrid, Regeringsgatan 103, Stockholm, Sweden; 3–4 days per week in the Stockholm office and 1–2 days remotely.

What you will do

• Design, implement, manage, further develop, and maintain Martech products and microservices.
• Build personalized customer experiences and data-driven solutions with scalable performance.
• Conduct technical investigations and feasibility studies to support architecture decisions.
• Contribute to technical design and shape the product roadmap with business stakeholders.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and share responsibility for unmapped work, bugs, and support.
• Challenge existing solutions and develop innovative approaches to complex domain problems.

Requirements

• At least 4–5 years of relevant professional experience in system development.
• Solid hands-on experience with Java and its surrounding ecosystem.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and curiosity about applying AI to engineering work.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent self-taught knowledge.
• Comfort working in an environment where Swedish is still used in day-to-day communication, meetings, and documentation; Avanza is transitioning to English as its primary language.
• Curious, solution-oriented, collaborative, and able to take technical ownership while supporting ideas with data and logic.

Nice to have

• Experience or interest in Martech, personalization, or streaming data.
• Experience with Spring, MongoDB, BigQuery, dbt, Spanner, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with Angular, React, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with event-driven architecture, CI/CD, and test automation.
• Domain knowledge in fintech, insurance, or pensions.
