Manager, Product Reliability Engineering

Location: Torrance, California, United States; office and manufacturing floor environment with occasional travel to supplier sites, testing events, and company facilities.

Salary: $150,020–$206,280 USD per year.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, prioritize, and manage a team of product reliability engineers; support hiring and onboarding.
• Partner with Program Management, Integrated Product Teams, design, manufacturing, and quality teams to align requirements, design intent, and production capability.
• Own APQP deliverables, including FMEA, control plans, validation activities, and product quality objectives.
• Track reliability metrics, risks, readiness, and program-level quality execution.
• Lead root-cause investigations, corrective actions, nonconformance reviews, containment, and effectiveness verification.
• Improve and standardize reliability, risk, and quality tools and processes for increasing product complexity and production volume.

Requirements

• Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to U.S. export controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in product reliability, quality, manufacturing, design, systems, or test/validation engineering.
• 1+ years of experience leading projects, initiatives, or directly managing engineers.
• Experience solving complex, cross-functional engineering problems using structured methodologies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Direct management experience in a production or product development environment.
• Experience with APQP methodologies, including FMEA, control plans, and validation planning.
• Experience with Six Sigma, 8D, DOE, Fault Tree Analysis, failure analysis, and structured problem-solving.
• Experience supporting product launches from development through production and managing multiple programs.
• Familiarity with additive manufacturing, machining, adhesive bonding, and automotive or aerospace standards.
• Experience with Jira, SQL, PowerBI, NX, Teamcenter, or similar data and CAD/design platforms.
