Build Reliability Engineering Manager (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop Build Reliability Engineers across multiple product and production areas.
• Set reliability and quality priorities and represent the function in cross-functional planning, program reviews, and production readiness discussions.
• Integrate reliability, quality, manufacturability, and inspectability into design, manufacturing, operations, and production processes.
• Review process plans, specifications, build documentation, and engineering change controls for accuracy, compliance, traceability, and configuration genealogy.
• Develop quality control, inspection, test validation, measurement, and process-control practices, including poka-yoke solutions.
• Use reliability and quality data to prioritize improvements, lead root-cause investigations, manage corrective and preventive actions, and control nonconforming hardware.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in aerospace engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering, or physics.
• Minimum 5+ years in a quality, manufacturing, reliability, or design engineering role.
• Experience leading engineers, technical projects, or cross-functional efforts related to product quality, manufacturability, or reliability.
• Experience supporting production, development, or new product introduction in a fast-paced hardware environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills, including presenting complex technical information to diverse audiences.
• Experience supporting diverse, high-volume production teams during product development, new product introduction, or production ramp-up.
• Ability to coach engineers at different experience levels, set clear expectations, communicate blockers, and maintain execution and accountability standards.
• Access to export-controlled information may require eligibility under applicable U.S. Government export-control requirements; classified access may require a security clearance or other authorization and applicable citizenship or eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace or defense/government programs.
• Experience implementing or enhancing manufacturing enterprise software or related systems.
• Knowledge of Lean principles, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action, APQP, Metrology, PFMEA, Control Plans, and related problem-solving methods.
• Experience adopting a Lean approach to quality without compromising safety or reliability.
• Experience questioning assumptions and applying processes, concepts, or materials from other industries to achieve efficiency gains.
• Experience representing an organization with regulators, suppliers, gatekeepers, and customers.
