Senior Director Automated & Connected Lab Portfolio (AI)

Location: USA - Remote; preferred work arrangement is onsite, with remote work considered based on business needs. Other locations: San Jose, California, and Indianapolis, Indiana. Global travel of approximately 30% is required.

Annual salary: $300,000–$350,000, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Own the 3–5 year portfolio strategy and integrated roadmap for BioMek, Echo, automation software, connectivity, and enterprise automation solutions.
• Lead product management for the BioMek and Echo automation platforms and guide their evolution toward intelligent, connected, AI-enabled laboratory workflows.
• Define modular portfolio architecture, data models, APIs, device drivers, telemetry, cybersecurity, and integration standards with R&D.
• Translate strategy into product requirements, pricing, packaging, launch plans, and commercial outcomes across hardware, software, and AI-adjacent capabilities.
• Lead the Access Solutions Group in delivering complex, multimillion-dollar enterprise automation systems integrating Beckman hardware, orchestration software, data interfaces, and third-party technologies.
• Build and lead a high-performing product management and solutions organization while managing portfolio P&L, investment trade-offs, compliance, and execution.

Requirements

• 12–15+ years of experience in product management or adjacent roles within life sciences, lab automation, scientific software, or industrial automation, including 7+ years leading product management teams.
• Track record of owning integrated hardware and software portfolios and delivering platform and ecosystem strategies.
• Demonstrated success in regulated environments and enterprise deployments, including GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, data integrity, and cybersecurity.
• Strong commercial acumen in pricing, portfolio P&L management, and enterprise solution selling.
• Technical fluency in lab automation, robotics, scheduling and orchestration, data platforms, cloud/SaaS, and API-first architectures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Ability to travel approximately 30% globally according to business needs.
